さて久しぶりの更新ですが、まぁ最近いろいろ忙しく、今日で活動が落ち着いたところです。

I have been very busy until last week, so I could not update this blog. Today my work settles down and I update this blog.

今月のソーラークラブは第3シリーズとして実施し本日無事終了。
明日からは期末試験準備で期末試験後は学校はクリスマス休み。ということで今年のソーラークラブは終了です。

About solar club, my main activity in Ghana, the third one was finished without any problems today and also it means that the club activity in this year was finished because examination preparation period just started and the 1st term in this school started last September will be over after the examination.

さて日本から戻ってきてからのソーラークラブはのんびり始まりつつも中身はきっちりでした。。

The 2nd and 3rd solar clubs I joined after the vacation in Japan were started easygoing at beginning, like at home but the contents were not cheap at the club.

もともと授業後の3時半の開講も生徒が来る時間がどんどん遅くなっていてついに4時開始。
1時間の活動予定も、先生、生徒とも始まると真剣なもんだから1時間半やって終了は5時半。

At the first meeting about solar club last June, we decided to start at 3:30pm after school hours but gradually students came class later and later, also same as teachers, so the start time was shifted to 4:00pm.
On the contrary, both teachers and students became serious at club and they kept the club activity about 1.5 hours, more than 1 hour and finished around 5:30pm.

僕の地域は停電するときはだいたいいつも6時なので、夕飯準備で炊飯器が使えなくなる身としては来年こそはもう少し早く始めて終わってほしいところですが（^^;）

そうそうガーナでもお米は食べられていて電気炊飯器も売っています。
ただ日本ほど出来良くなく、食事にこだわる隊員はガスや炭で炊いていたりもします。
ちなみに僕のおすすめはシンディーライス（ベトナム産）。
5kgでGHC25。750円くらい。

もちもちとした日本米は出回ってないし、味の近い韓国米は高いと聞くのでこれに落ち着いてます。

In the morning, it is often fine day but about 4:00pm to 5:00pm, some big rain cloud come from east
then it rains a lot about 30 minutes. After that it stops raining and sun appears.
These days it often happens, so this hard rain noise prevents students from hearing the lecture.
I have to go back my home in the afternoon in case I wash and dry cloths in the morning, otherwise my clothes get soaked.

話は戻りますが時間にルーズなのはおそらく言っても仕方ないんだろうなー、
言って直したところでまた元に戻るだろうし、かつクラブ活動では先生たちに中身を一任していることもあるし。
そして毎日授業後活動してもらって手当も一切ないのでこちらとしても強く言えないというのもありますが…。

Back to the main story, probably it doesn't make sense to tell them to start punctually. If I do it, they will do punctual but eventually the time must restore to its former state. Also I totally impose the club responsibility on them and don't give any allowance to them. I am selfish at this point so I think I should not bother them..

彼らは国の発展のために自分達の時間を削って無償で教えている。
ガーナという発展途上国にあって本当に自分は節度あるいい仲間たちに恵まれていると思います。
ありがたいことです。

そんな彼らに報いるべく、僕はクラブからクラス、すなわち学校のカリキュラムに移行できるようマネージメントしていかないといけないわけです。そうすれば彼らは学校から給料としてお金を受け取れるようになります。

At the club, they teach students at the cost of their time without any allowance, considering about the development of Ghana and their skill. Sometimes I hear from other volunteers that their colleagues always think about money and are not cooperative without any money. At that point, I am happy with good teachers and I can concentrate on the work, counting on them.

To reward for their devoted effort, I have to manage my project to shift from club to class on school curriculum and they can receive money as salary..

と、実はそんな頑張ってきた僕らに朗報が！
僕らの太陽電池教育活動を知った海外のキリスト教母体のNGO団体が僕たちの活動に非常に興味を持ってくださり、そのメンバーと先週打ち合わせをし、教育プランを提示したところ、なんと全面的に協力頂けることになりました。
先生たちもこの協力の話に俄然やる気が出てきたようで、
とにかく残りの活動期間、ガーナの教育のトップレベルを目指して行けるところまでつっぱしりますよー！

By the way, thanks for their good work, we could get wonderful offer!
An NGO based on Christianity promises us to support our solar energy education totally.
We had a meeting with them last week and suggested our education plan and finally they agreed with our idea.
That great offer got teachers highly motivated so in my volunteer period about 10 months, we will work hard to aim the highest level of solar energy system education in Ghana as much as we could.
