明日はガーナの独立記念日のため、学校はお休み。
結局、今週はみんな忙しく授業には来ませんでした。また来週かな。

さて、そんな中今週もいろいろありました。
まずはタカに直してほしいと持ちこまれた日本製のテレビ。「いやいや、僕は修理業者じゃないし」と思いつつも日本から来た技術者としてのプライドがあるため、中をチェック。


Finally the teachers could not come in this week, and tomorrow is the independence day, a national holiday in Ghana.
Many things happened in this week in spite of no presentation class.

This is the spoiled television brought by the principal and he wants me to repair...
"Ah, I'm not a repairer, actually…", but I have a pride as a Japanese engineer so I opened the back and checked inside…

中はなんと砂だらけ！
実はガーナはハマターンという貿易風が１２月～２月に吹き、その風は乾燥しており砂を多く含んでいます。
パソコンや電化製品の通気口から砂が侵入し電気回路をダメにしてしまうことが多く、注意が必要なのです。

「どこかで回路がショートしたのかも。」と思いつつ布でふいたり、息を吹きかけてテレビ内部の砂を飛ばしたり。
そして電源投入時の症状からVertical ICという電子部品が怪しいという予測を立てています。
また来週、先生の時間が取れたら一緒に直してみる予定。


How much sand dust are inside!!
Actually, A dry trade wind, called Harmattan, flows in winter season (From Dec to Feb) in Ghana and it includes sand dusts.
To make matters worse, the sands enter into electronic devices through exhaust ports and make some trouble inside.
We have to pay attention to this bad effect of Harmattan.

"It must have a short circuit!" I swept inside with a piece of cloth, blew on the circuit to remove the sands.
Finally, through a symptom of power supply, I suspected that the vertical IC might have a problem.
Next week when some teachers can take time for repairing, I will do with them.

そして、太陽電池講義で使っていたパソコン部屋のパソコン内に3DCADソフトがインストールされているのを発見。
3DCADとは3次元モデルをパソコン上に描き、そこから図面を作成したりするソフトです。

現在は教えることのできる先生がいないため、誰も使っていないとのこと。
僕は過去、車の部品設計に携わっていたこともあって3DCADに懐かしさを感じつつ、ソフトを動かしてみました。

以前使っていたソフトとは違いますが、基本思想は同じなので、図面引いて3D化したりとスラスラ。
それを見た先生がびっくりし「僕に教えてくれないか？」との話し。

プレゼンの仕方講義、3DCAD講義、テレビ修理と電子工学隊員であるが故の幅広さ。
太陽電池のプロジェクトを進めつつ、学びたいと思っている人達にできる限り技術を教えていきたいと思っています。


In addition, I found that AutoCAD inventor was installed in all computers in my class room.
I heard that it was not used for education because no teachers in this school can teach it.
As I used to work for an automobile part company, not only solar panel factory, I felt nostalgia for 3DCAD and tried using the software.

It's different from the one I used but it's a same principle.
I could be accustomed with it and draw 2D and 3D figures well.
A teacher dropping into my classroom got surprised at my CAD works and told me,
"Could you teach me this work?"

I can develop my volunteer work capacity, like presentation, repair electric appliances and 3DCAD here.
I will teach motivated teachers these technologies in spare moments from my solar work.
