結局今週先生方はテストの準備等、そして昼過ぎに電気が来ないということで僕は授業をできず。
そして今日、所属長が朝に自宅バンガローまで来て、コンピュータールームの鍵を貸してくれないか。とのこと。
聞けば、今日から2日間CBTの講義を先生向けにするそう。
「CBTって何？」と聞いたら「Competency Based Training(職能に基づく訓練)だ」とのこと。
「Competency?面白そう、何時からするの？」「9時か9時半くらいかな」とのことで。結局始まったのは10時でした。

CBT（職能に基づく訓練）とは「就職先で必要とされる実務に即した職業能力訓練」で、授業を通して、現場ニーズに合った生徒の能力を高める訓練。
生徒のモチベーションを高めるため「グループワーク、実作業」が主体になります。

今までの「黒板に書き、ペーパーテストを作成し、各先生方が採点し、順位を付ける。」従来の教育方式から大きく変えたいと考えているようです。


Eventually, I could not open the presentation class due to teacher's preparation for term examination and no electricity in the afternoon this week.
By the way, today, the head teacher of my department visited my bungalow and asked me to pass him the computer's labs key.
I heard from him that he would open CBT class for teachers in 2 days.

"What is CBT?" I asked, and then he replied, "It means Competency Based Training."
"Competency? It sounds interesting. What time will you start today?", "It's around 9, 9:30am..."
I decided to take his class. Actually, it started 10:00am and finished 11:00am. It was 1 hour lesson.

CBT is a kind of education programs like "Business ability training to meet the needs of real workplaces."
Through the training, students can get abilities to satisfy the real needs.
Group works and practical operations are the center of the education to make students motivated.

This school wants to change the education style from old way, such as writing on a chalkboard, making some paper tests, checking the answer sheets and ranking students.

そもそもガーナでは基本、生徒は教科書を持っていません。
赴任先の学校では先生が黒板に書いたことをノートに移す時間を与えて生徒は移します。
それ以外、授業中多くの生徒はノートを取りません。
ただ授業をぼんやり聞いていて、まるでテレビを見ているよう。

授業が生徒主体になれば、彼らは授業中常に考え行動し、より興味を示すようになります。
この教育方式に変えることは、この学校にとってとてもメリットがあるように感じます。

ただし、これは先生たちにとって大変なこと。
今までの授業の方法に慣れてきた先生方がこの方式に変わっていけるかどうか、生徒のモチベーションをいかに引き出すかが鍵になります。
ただこの学校の良いところは、やる気のある先生方がいて、そして僕がいる。
この学校をより高い教育レベルにするにはいい条件が揃っています。（と、僕は思っています。）

そんな生徒のやる気を引き出すため、僕はここの先生達には情報の少ない実験関連を担当したいと思っています。


To begin with, students in Ghana don't have textbooks.
Teachers in my assignment school write the content of the textbook on the chalkboard and explain.
Then, students copy them on their notebook when teachers give them time for doing it.
Except that time, many students don't note at the class. They seem to hear the lecture dully as if they watched TV.

If we change that class from teacher–centered learning to student-centered, they will change their mind, think deeply at a class, and become interested in the lecture.
I feel this change must bring a lot of good effects in this school.

On the other hand, it imposes hard works to teachers because they have to change their mind to adopt new style and make students motivated as much as possible at their class.
I think this is the key point of new education, CBT.

In spite of that difficulty, this school has motivated teachers and me!
This school has advantage to shift the good education system, I think.
To make students motivated, I want to help teachers with experiment skills that they don't have enough.
