さて、７月に実施したソーラークラブですが
初日から生徒がちゃんと来てくれるという上々の滑り出し。

so the launch of the club looked very nice.

まずは基礎法則(公式)の復習からスタートました。
これは先生からの提案で、いきなり太陽電池の話をしても彼らには難しいかもしれない。
ということで

At first, we reviewed the basic electronic principle.
This idea was suggested by the school teachers
and it meant that it might be difficult for students to begin studying solar technology soon without any reviews.

本クラブ期間中ビックリしたのは生徒が全員ノートをちゃんと取っているということ。

授業で全員がノートをちゃんと取るというのは、ガーナ全体としてもまれだと思います

まぁ今回は賢い生徒を校内から集めているから、これは当然といえば当然なんですが、
ちゃんと条件さえ整えてあげればガーナでもきちっとした教育ができるじゃないか！と改めて感じました。

Surprisingly, All the students attending this club took note!

Actually, it might be natural because we selected brilliant students in each class
for the solar club, but I realized that we could give a good education to students
under the good condition we put.

そして出席人数もほぼ全員が毎日参加ということで、
もう「やる気の塊」といいますか、
先生と生徒の情熱が合わさって彼らにとっていい環境ができたのではと思います。

In addition, Most of them attended every day,as it were, “the motivation”,
so I thought we could organize good atmosphere for them in the club period.

日本に帰国しているときもインターネットでやり取りはしていて、
現地の先生から「太陽電池クラブはいつからなんだと生徒から話が来てる！」
と連絡もあり、”目論見通り”といったところ。

When I was in Japan for vacation,
I communicated with the teachers by email
and I received their message,
"Some students asked me when the club would start!”
They have kept their study motivation ;-) .

さて今はすでにガーナに戻ってきています。
そして昨日今日と来週から始めるソーラークラブについて打ち合わせをしました。
打ち合わせの結果、次のクラブでは前来てくれた生徒たちを先生役にして
次に来る生徒に教えさせてみようということに。

I left Japan in September, now I am in Ghana.
Both yesterday and today, we discussed next solar club held in the beginning of October.
Then we decided to make ex-club students to be teachers for new club members.

このことを前回クラブに来てくれた生徒たちを集め先生が話したところ、
多くの生徒がうつむいてしまいました。
こんな話を急に聞いて緊張しているのでしょう。

今週は授業後にクラブの復習をしてもらうべく集まってもらって、10/5月曜からクラブを開始しようという話になりました。

まぁこういう経験今までしたことないだろうし、
仮に失敗したとしても将来のやるであろうプレゼンテーションの練習みたいなものだし、
まぁいい経験になるでしょう、多分、きっと…。

というわけで、次回は第2回ソーラークラブについてお話しすることにしましょう。

When the teacher gathered them and talked about the next club image,
many of them looked down.
They looked nervous about the teacher role.
He continued that he would call them to review the club contents after the school classes in this week,
and then start the new club next Monday.

Well, I think it’s their first experience to behave as a teacher,
so even if they mistake their teaching role,
that experience must be good for them like practicing presentation
