ガーナでの協力隊活動について。
新年あけましておめでとうございます。
今年も本ブログをよろしくお願い致します。
さて今回は僕の仕事について。
僕のガーナでの活動内容は太陽光発電技術の普及促進で、赴任先の工業高校では太陽光発電コースを開くことを考えており、私はそのサポートを期待されています。
そもそもガーナは１年の中で晴れている日が多く、また日差しも強いことから太陽光発電に適しています。現在、国内で太陽光発電システムの普及が進められていますが、導入後、メンテナンスできる人材が少ないため、壊れたらほったらかしになったり、また使えるパーツを取り外して別の用途、もしくは売ってお金に換えてしまうこともあり、結果、太陽光発電システムが維持できなくなってしまうことが問題になっています。

Today I will introduce my assignment.
My main activity in Ghana is promotion and spread of PV (photovoltaic) technology, also known as solar energy technology, based on a technical school. The teachers want to open a new course, “solar energy technology course” and I will support it.
Actually, there are many sunny days in Ghana all year round and the sunlight is strong. These conditions are suitable for solar panel so they start to install solar energy systems here in Ghana. However, a few people know how to maintain the systems and the other many people leave, divert and sell them if they get trouble. Therefore, it is becoming a big problem for developed countries.

これはガーナのとある施設のソーラー車いすの写真です。これらのソーラー車いすも故障して使えなくなり、今もそのまま外に放置しているとのこと。
この問題をなくすためには太陽光発電を熟知した技術者を育成していくことが重要となります。
赴任先の学校の先生たちもソーラーに関してモチベーションが高く、面白いプロジェクトができそうです。
