今回は赴任先の学校についてちょっと紹介します。
実はわがセントポール工業高校はククラントゥミをいう町にあるのですが、その5%近くを占める大きな工業高校。
まぁ、「この学校あってのククラントゥミ」といっても過言ではないでしょう！
さてそんな僕の赴任先のバーチャル見学をしませんか？（といっても写真の紹介だけですが）
ということで、僕の赴任先の学校に"行った気"になりましょう。
まず学校の正門に向かって立ってみます！


Today, I introduce my assignment school a little.
St Paul technical school, my assignment school, is located in Kukurantumi, a town in Eastern Region.
To tell the truth, the area of the school is about 5% of the total town area.
It is not too much to say that this town can exist solely due to the presence of the school!
Now, would you have a time to join virtual tour in my school?

んー、左のあの青いビートル、先週はなかったんだけど、誰かが置いてったのかな。
謎なのでとりあえず無視して進んでいきましょう。


Oh, that Beatle was not there last week, someone must have left there.
I don't know who did it.
Anyway, go straight on this road!

道の左側には小学校があります。
よく子供たちがここでサッカーをしてます。
で、ここのベンチにはよく人が座っていて仲良くおしゃべりをしています。
遠出するときに「お前どこにいくんだ？ついでにパン買ってきてくれ」と言われます。
「パン買ってこい」はいつも言われるので、ガーナの常套文句なのでしょう。


On our left hand, there is an elementary school and kid students often play soccer there.
At the bench, some people sit and enjoy talking.
When I go to city, every time they ask me, "Where are you going? Buy some bread for me!"
I always hear that phrase, so I think it is a common in Ghana.

さて入門ゲートの右横には学校の看板があります。
モットーにCARPE DIEMとありますが直訳すると「その日をつかめ」です。
「機会を逃すな」というメッセージがこのモットーに込められています。


On our right hand at the gate, there is a school signboard and it says "CARPE DIEM" as a motto.
It means "get a day" in direct translation and the school put a message "don't miss opportunity" in it.

看板の向こうがパーム畑。
パームの木が並んでいます。
クリスマスの時は、ここの木を倒してパームワインを作っていたわけです。
パームワインについては以前この日記にも書きました。
今ではすっかり雑草だらけになっています。


Over the signboard, we can see palm tree area.
In Christmas, some palm trees were fallen then I could get some palm wine.
I've already posted about how to get palm wine and see it if you are interested.
Now there are many weed covering fallen palm trees.

さて校門を抜けると、向かって左と右にそれぞれ像とモニュメントが立っています。
２つとも今年の1月にできました。


After entering the school, there are a statue on your left and a monument on your right.
Both of them were built last January, 3month ago.

セントポール（聖パウロ）の銅像は学校のオフィスの前に建っており、赴任先の工業高校の名前の由来にもなっています。
（実はこの像は"銅"像ではなくコンクリート製で色付けして銅像っぽく見せてます。）


The statue of Saint Paul is built at school administration office and his name is origin of the school name.

右手に見えるモニュメントにはペンチ、金づち、ドライバーということで工業高校を表しています。


The monument on your right, "a pair of pliers, hammer, and driver", expresses that here is a technical school.

さらにまっすぐいくと、おやVodafoneの電話スタンド。
日本からは撤退しましたがこっちではVodafoneは普通に現役。
この電話スタンドの特徴は上に太陽電池がついていて停電していても電話が使えます。
もちろんリチャージカードとSIMを買わないと電話は使えません。
（ガーナの携帯電話事情も以前日記に書いていますので、そちらもよければ見てください。）


Let's go straight and you can see a telephone stand built by Vodafone.
Vodafone left from Japan market about 10 years ago but in Ghana, it is available.
The telephone stand has a solar panel on the roof, so we can use it in spite of the power failure time.
It's useful for students who don't have cell phones.
Of course, we have to buy recharge card and SIM card if we want to use.

そしてクラスルームブロック。
学生達は専門以外の共通教養科目はこちらで勉強します。
例えば、英語や数学、総合科学、社会科等。
ここの広い区画に太陽電池システムを置こうと考えています。
メンテもしやすいし教育にも使えるし、そして道沿いだから宣伝効果もあるし、といったところ。


And this is classroom block.
The students learn cultural subjects.
For example, English, Mathematic, Integrated Science, Social study etc.
I want to put a school solar system on this district.
It must be easy to maintain the system and teachers can use it for education.
In addition, it might be advertisement for this school.

もう少し先に行くと電気電子科の校舎があります。
電気電子科のオフィスもあって、僕はここでソーラー教育について考えたり、皆と一緒にバナナとナッツを食べながらおしゃべりしたり、はたまた持ち込まれるパソコン等を直したりしています。


Ahead of the class room block, we can see the electrical engineering department.
I am at the office there in weekdays.
In a day time, I think about solar education for this school, having some bananas and nuts with my colleagues.


さらに先に進むと僕が使っている講義の部屋やサッカーコート、宿舎があるのですが、それはまた別の機会に。


Over there, we can see my work room, soccer court and my home but I will show you another time.

Let's go back the entrance gate.

ここに太陽電池システム入れるとなれば、地面設置なので泥棒除けを考えないといけないだろうなぁ、なんてことを思います。


I have to think about burglar proof if I can get this place for sola panel system.

さてバーチャル学校見学はいかがだったでしょうか。
そうそう太陽電池システムは機材搬入が進んでおり7月のテスト期間に入る前までには組みあがるでしょう。


OK, guys, how about this virtual tour?
The Principal, teachers and I will finish the system installation work by this July, a final exam period.

あと入り口の付近はアスファルト舗装されてなくて地面がぼこぼこしているのでこけないように気を付けて。
激しい雨が降ると小さな川になります。


In addition, pay attention to the ground not to stumble.
There are many pot hole on the ground and sometimes it becomes "river" in heavy rain.
