セルビアオープン優勝しました！

10月5~6日にセルビアオープン大会が首都のベオグラードで開催されました。

初日は個人戦で二日目は団体戦が行われ、セルビア国内の選手はもちろんのこと、ルーマニア、ブルガリア、ギリシャ、ハンガリー、ロシアから約200名ほどの選手が参加しました。

私は個人戦に参加をし団体戦では審判を行いました。

その大会の報告を日記に書きたいと思います。

Serbia Open was held in Belgrade on October 5th ~ 6th.

On the first day was the individual and on the second, the teams tournament. Around 200 people participated who were from Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, Russia and of cource domestic players joined.

I participated in only the individual because I was Shinpan on the second day.

I will write down the details below.

個人戦の結果を先に言うと、なんとか優勝することができました。

ですが、決して簡単ではなく本当に厳しい試合の連続でした。ヨーロッパの剣道が発展してきているなと改めて身をもって感じました。

私は今回初めて日本以外で試合を行いました。今までの自分の剣道は、言うなれば日本式であり海外での試合は予測しているところ以外からの打突や、手足の長さを活かした遠い間合いからの打突、驚異的な身体能力での速い打突や強い体当たりなど驚くことがたくさんありました。

反省点は簡単に吹っ飛ばされてしまったので、もっと足捌きや体捌きを稽古しないといけないなと思いました。

また、最近は自分の稽古ではなく指導するという気持ちが強くあったのか、自分から攻めるのではなく待ってしまう場面が多かったので、思い出させてもらうにもちょうど良い試合でした。

決勝戦では、ロイヤル道場のジャンと対戦しました。

嬉しいことにいつも稽古している友達と決勝戦で戦うことができたことです。

結果は、2-1で勝利することができ、指導者としての立場を守ることができました。

このツキが一本になりましたが、写真からもわかるように外れていました。一本のように見せる技術も大切なので、皆さんには納得してもらいましょうw

また今回の大会ではジョーがサポートしてくれて試合に集中することができました。

試合会場とか何試合目とかよくわかっていませんでしたが、ジョーのおかげで無事試合を行えました。ありがとう。

Firstly, I want to mention my result, I managed to get first place.

It was not an easy task. It was a series of tough fights. I thought again European Kendo is improving sharply.

I fought in an international competition for the first time. I guess my kendo style is Japanese because I only did kendo in Japan. I was surprised that so many fighters could hit me without me predicting it, with their long limbs from a large distance, using their incredible physical ability to do fast strikes or push.

I was pushed away so easily so I desided to practice footwork and body control more.

I am a kendo trainer now, so I have been focucing on letting students have opportunities to attack and to counter. However, in the tournament, I had to remember my old tournament mindset, which is not to wait for my opponent to make the first move like I do in usual training.

I fought against Jean in Royal in the final.

I was glad to fight against him whom is my friend.

I won against him 2-1. I defended my position as a trainer.

The picture above shows when I hit Tsuki and got a point. However actually, you can see I missed.

I believe kendo demands many factors to get an Ippon. You need to show Shinpan your Waza looks like Ippon even if you miss. Hope you are convinced too, haha.

Thanks to Jo's support, I could focus on my competiion. I didn't know where my shiai courts were or which turn I was in.
