＃3 クローズアップ★ガーナ：任地‟アッパーウエスト州"編
Antele（こんにちは）！
早いもので赴任から半年が経過しました。
陽気なガーナ人に囲まれ穏やかな日々を送っております。
赴任当初と比較して感じること—、
それは任地への愛着が芽生えてきたことです（まさに住めば都！？）。
もう半年！と焦りが出ることもありますが、そんな時こそガーナ流の
“スモールスモール（少しずつ）”を心がけつつ活動に励みたいと思います。ブログを見てご連絡を下さった方々、ありがとうございます。
スローペースな更新で恐縮ですが、今後とも宜しくお願いいたします。

So it has been a very very long time since I have written on the blog and I apologize for that. Half a year has passed since I came to Ghana. Compared to half a year ago, I′m sure I came to love my assignment place,“Wa.” I will get the job done and keep in mind to be "small small" as we say in Ghana. Also, I am so grateful that I've got messages from some readers of this blog. Thank you for continuing to visit my blog and I hope to share my experiences with you over the rest of the time I spend here.
先月を振り返ると、同じ任地の遠山隊員（https://world-diary.jica.go.jp/toyamahiroki/activity/post_5.php）の帰国に伴い、配属先での帰国報告に参加させてもらいました。活動期間延長に至った背景や、配属先の同僚が最終的には自ら進んで取り組んでくれるようになったというエピソードなど、その報告は帰国後も現地に根付く持続可能な活動がいかに大切であるかを改めてリマインドさせられるものでした。遠山隊員、本当にお疲れさまでした！

Just to give an overview of my last month, there was a briefing session by my senior (Toyama JV: https://world-diary.jica.go.jp/toyamahiroki/activity/post_5.php) before his return to Japan. He shared several impressive episodes that he experienced in his two years assignment. It strongly reminded me how important our own activity is to work sustainably after we leave each assighmet place.
さて、今回の投稿では、北にブルキナファソ、西にコートジボワールとの国境を抱えるガーナの最北西に位置する任地、「アッパーウエスト州」を皆さんにご紹介したいと思います（長いので２回の投稿に分けてお送りします）。
ずばり、任地の良いところは・・
1. 市内がコンパクト、渋滞がない
2. 人がおだやかでフレンドリー
3. バラエティに富んだ農作物
4. 美味しいローカルフードとドリンク
5. 自然保護区と観光スポット
１．市内がコンパクト、交通渋滞がない
マーケット、病院、行政サービスなど日常生活に必要な施設が中心部に集中しているため、移動にそれほど時間がかかりません。主要都市と比較して人口が少ないため、その分渋滞もなく、人が集まるマーケット界隈でも人でごった返す光景を目にすることは滅多にありません（写真は夕方の幹線道路）。
Next, Let me share about favorite features of my assignment please: WA, Upper West Region. This Region is bordered on the North by the Republic of Burkina Faso, and on the West by Cote D’Ivoire. The regional capital “WA” has always been at the center of economic growth since 1983. This region has eleven districts which include five administrative districts. I'm going to introduce 5 favorite features as follows,
1. Compact and clean town and Traffic jam free
2. Nice and friendly people
3. A wide variety of crops
4. Good taste local foods and drinks
5. Nature reserve and Tourism spots

If you come to this place, it doesn't take so much time to move from one place to another because the market, bank, hospital, bus station or all public services are located in the city center. And WA is not densely populated when compared to other major city or town. So you hardly ever get stuck in the traffic in this town.
